This dish starts at the grocery store. Make sure you get CRUSHED tomatoes.
We use the blender to cut up skins of tomatoes. They’re no fun.
Salt at each stage of adding ingredients to the pan.
Ingredients
2 cans crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
1 cup heavy cream
1 head garlic
1/4 cup olive oil
Red pepper flakes to taste
Salt and pepper to taste
2 TBSP vodka
1 box/bag of angel hair pasta
Step-By-Step Directions
Take out blender and cans of tomatoes.
Open cans of tomatoes and put in blender. Pulse 10 times. This will cut up skin, but still leave some chunks of tomatoes for texture. Put next to stove.
Take out clear measuring cup and heavy cream. Measure out 1 cup of heavy cream and put next to stove.
Take out mini food processor, cutting board, knife, small red rubber spatula, garbage bowl, and 1 head of garlic. Mince garlic and put in regular white bowl, then put next to stove.
Take out salt, pepper, angel hair pasta, and red pepper flakes (vodka if you have it). Put next to stove.
Take out olive oil and 1/4 cup measuring cup. Put next to stove.
Take out big pot, fill with water, salt well, splash of olive oil, and start boiling water.
Take out big pan and heat to medium-low.
Measure out 1/4 cup of olive oil and pour in pan.
Once warm, add garlic, salt, and red pepper flakes and cook about 3 minutes.
Add tomatoes, increase heat to medium, salt well, mix well, and cook about 7 minutes.
When water comes to a boil, add angel hair pasta and cook for three minutes.
Take out colander and a clear plastic soup container (save some pasta water) and put in sink.
Add cream and vodka (if you have it), salt well, mix well and cook about 2 minutes.
